Bombardier made public the decision to set up a manufacturing plant in Morocco due to both: its proximity to the European market and the opportunity to lower shipping and transportation costs.
Morocco's aerospace cluster has been growing over the past years, companies like EADS and Safran have started already operational activities there.
The plant will employ more than 850 workers by 2020, and will be operative by 2013.
Bombardier current facilities are NAFTA:
Montreal, Toronto, Wichita (Kansas) and Mexico. EUROPE: Belfast.
