The delivery and transport company FedEx, through its affiliate FedEx Express, has received the first Boeing 777 Freighter (777F), making it the first cargo airline in the U.S. to take delivery of this aircraft.

FedEx has made the largest order of the 777F for a total of 15 aircraft, expands the capacity of what is already the world’s leading cargo airline. Its international routes will enable its clients to benefit from the best services and will increase the effectiveness of the company's worldwide network.

The 777F is the world’s largest twin-engine cargo aircraft, with a flight range equivalent to 10,700 land kilometres and a payload capacity of 97,500 kg. This represents an increase in flight range of 3,800 km and an additional payload capacity of 6,350 kg with respect to the MD-11, which until now was the main long-distance aircraft in the company fleet.

The total range of this freighter will enable FedEx Express to fly between major markets and centres of operations in Asia, Europe and the USA with more cargo and in less time than it currently takes, which will enable clients from different markets to make their deliveries at a later time.
