The Joint Venture (uTE) consisting of Eptisa and Elimco has announced that it expects to complete the works for the construction of the new Alestis Aerospace factory in the Bay of Cádiz in the first quarter of 2010. In the coming years this factory will assemble various sections of the belly fairing and tail cone of the new year Airbus passenger jet, the A350XWB.

Once finished, says the joint venture, it will be the "most advanced aeronautical manufacturing plant in Andalusia". The new factory located in the Tecnobahía Technology Park will involve an investment of 83 million euros, including construction, fitting out and provision of technological facilities. Of this amount, 21.34 million euros will be provided by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Enterprise of the Andalusian Regional Government. The plant consists of a "key in hand" project on a site measuring 49,670 square metres next to the premises of the former Delphi factory in the El Trocadero Industrial Estate in Puerto Real (Cádiz).

The built surface area of 19,530 square metres will be divided into two zones. The first of these will house the new production plants, the warehouses and the loading and unloading area, while the second zone consisting of three floors will include a painting section, a services section and the offices.
