The EOI Business School inaugurated the fourth edition of the Aeronautical Business Management Programme at its headquarters in Seville. The aim of this initiative jointly developed by EADS-CASA and Sevilla Global is to offer complete and balanced training to management and executives of businesses in the Andalusian aeronautical sector to enable them to meet the new challenges of the aeronautical industry.

The ceremony was presided over by Francisco Velasco, director of the EOI in Andalusia; Juan Pedro Vela, President of the Hélice Foundation; and Javier Cornejo, head of Institutional Relations for EADS-CASA in Andalusia.

Following the inauguration of the new course and the presentation of diplomas to students of the third edition of the programme, the President of the Hélice Foundation presented a conference on the "Current Situation and Future Perspectives of the Andalusian Aeronautical Sector", during which he stated that "the sector is developing a Strategic Plan which is expected to be revealed in early 2010" and also highlighted the projects which are currently being carried out in the Andalusian region, including those relating to the A400M (FAl), the A380 (entry into mass production) and the A350 (in design phase). In terms of projects with future potential in Andalusia, Vela highlighted those relating to uAVs (unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and new technologies for air traffic control.

Finally, he referred to the “need for the aeronautical sector to have companies with sufficient critical size”, which can be achieved either through growth or collaboration and cooperation between enterprises in the Andalusian auxiliary industry.

The main aim of the Aeronautical Business Management Programme organised by EOI is to provide adequate training in the aeronautical sector which enables the participants to make their own business decisions with the minimum possible risk. The course began with a total of 27 students and has a duration of 500 hours in 2010.
