The Andalusian company Sofitec has been undergoing a process of expansion of its technological capacity in recent months to position itself as a leader in the aeronautical sector for the development of complete products for major manufacturers, through the integration of technology in all its areas (tooling, sheet metal, assembly and composite materials) at its facilities located in Aeropolis. Its most recent step in this respect is the purchase of a new centre for its machined prod- ucts, which has involved an investment of one million euros.
This is the only example of its kind in Spain due to its dimensions, enabling work on parts measuring up to 2 metres in diameter and 1.4 metres in height.
The company has also expanded its sheet metal line with a thermal treatment oven. Sofitec has also taken a further step in the field of quality certification, as it has recently been granted nADCAP AS7003 certification for the manufacture of composite materials.
The company, which is developing a new line for the manufacture of thermoplastics for non-structural parts in the interior of aircraft, is finalising the construction of a new building at Aeropolis which it hopes to have functioning by the end of summer.
